Information and Dates
Environment-a-thon
It’s that time of year! Our annual community clean up! We ended Friday afternoon with our fundraiser kick off assembly. The first two goals are to clean up our community AND raise A LOT of money for the school. But the second goal is to have fun, lots of laughs and to win some fabulous prizes.
This year, a grade 4 student challenged Ms J to kiss a cow if the school raised $5000. The student figured that Ms J has already kissed goats, pigs, snakes, donkeys, dogs and chickens… why not a cow! Ms J accepted the challenge and said, if the school raises $5000, she will not only kiss a cow, she will bring the whole farm to Elm Street!
Students were given a sponsor sheet after the assembly and we hope they start fundraising this weekend! For every $25 they raise, their name gets entered into the draw for all the fabulous prizes.
The clean up will happen on May 28, and all money and sponsor sheets are due on Friday, May 29.
We will draw for the prizes on Friday, June 5. Please help and encourage your child to find sponsors, so they can have lots of chances for awesome prizes!
Grade 6 Closing
As already shared, the grade 6 Closing event will be on June 24. The event will take place at 10:00am in the morning in the Elm Street gym and will last about an hour. We will share more details as it gets closer to the date!
Year End Field Trips
All of the year end field trips have been planned and your child’s teacher will be letting you know specifics in the coming weeks!
Ice Cream Sales
Our ice-cream sandwich fundraiser will continue for another 10 weeks starting April 1st and running until June 3rd. Money ($2) will be due every Wednesday, or you can pay for multiple weeks at a time ($20 will cover all 10 weeks). This fundraiser helps cover the cost for the Grade 6 end-of-year trip to Magic Mountain and Montana's, and we're well on track to reach our goal!
Eagles Nest Library
Our library has a new website!
You can take a peek at our Eagles Nest Library to see what’s happening in our library and use some of the reading tools like our digital library collections.
One important item of interest is the Book Orders section. Digital flyers are available for viewing under the Book Order tab on the website. Families can follow the link to create an account and use the class code, and Ms Coulson will place a monthly order. Books will then be delivered to the school.

Principal Update (2026 - 2027 School Year)
Elm Street School would like to share an important leadership update for the upcoming school year. As previously shared with families, Ms. J will be taking a one‑year leave of absence for the 2026–2027 school year.
We are pleased to welcome Klasina Driscoll to the Principal role. Ms. Driscoll is currently Vice‑Principal at Gulf Shore School and brings experience from several Summerside schools in a variety of roles. She also has a strong connection to the Elm Street Elementary community, as her children attended the school in previous years.
Planning for a smooth transition will continue over the coming months, and Ms. Driscoll will visit Elm Street before the end of June to meet students and staff.
